Stocks in Focus: Today the focus will be on companies like Tata Motors, IDFC First Bank and Aarti Drugs.
Market Outlook: Today the domestic market is showing strength and in early trade Nifty has reached near 17300. According to Ruchit Jain, Head (Research) of brokerage firm 5pass.com, the US Fed’s policies have come to the fore and the monthly F&O expiry has been done, so now the most impact on the market movement can be seen in the upcoming budget. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget for the next financial year tomorrow (February 1). According to Jain, further bullish trend can be seen in the market. However, brokerage firm Reliance Securities believes that the bull’s hold on the market is not strong yet and Nifty 50 may have to face resistance at the level of 17400.

Today focus will be on these stocks
- Tata Motors: Veteran auto company Tata Motors will announce the quarterly results of October-December 2021 for the third quarter of the current financial year today. The company’s financial performance on a quarterly basis is expected to be better in the December quarter due to easing of chip problems and increase in sales, but it may remain subdued compared to the third quarter of the previous financial year. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) business was hit due to chip shortage, due to which the company is estimated to have a loss of Rs 2,200 crore in the December quarter. The company had a profit of Rs 2906.5 crore in the December 2020 quarter while there was a loss of Rs 4441.6 crore in the September 2021 quarter.
- IDFC First Bank: IDFC First Bank on Saturday announced its December quarter results. The bank achieved a net profit of Rs 281 crore in the third quarter of FY 2022, which is more than double the profit of Rs 130 crore in the December 2020 quarter. However, the income of the bank declined to Rs 5129.79 crore from Rs 4711.72 crore on a year-on-year basis. The asset quality of the bank has improved and its Gross NPAs stood at 3.96 per cent of Gross Advances as against 1.31 per cent at the end of a year ago i.e. December 2020.
- Sun Pharma: Sun Pharma will announce its December 2021 quarter results today. The pharma company is expected to make more than ten times profit in the third quarter of the current financial year and report a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,957 crore. At the same time, the net sales of the company is estimated to increase by 11.5 percent annually,
- Bharti Airtel: Google will invest $ 100 million (Rs 7510 crore) in Indian telecom company Bharti Airtel. In this, Google will buy a stake in Bharti Airtel for $ 700 million (Rs 5257 crore) and together will develop cheap phones and research 5G. According to the information given in the regulatory filing on Friday, Google will buy 1.28 percent stake in Bharti Airtel at a price of Rs 734 per share. Apart from this, the remaining $ 300 million (Rs 2253 thousand crore) will be invested in the form of commercial agreements for several years.

- Britannia Industries: Britannia Industries reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 369.18 crore in the December quarter, down 18.4 per cent year-on-year, according to the results announced on Friday. The company’s profit decreased due to increased raw material prices. However, the company’s operating revenue jumped 12.93 percent to Rs 3574.98 crore.
- L&T: Larsen & Turbo (L&T) announced its December quarter results on Friday. The company’s consolidated net profit fell 16.7 per cent year-on-year to Rs 2054.74 crore in the December 2021 quarter.
- The results of these companies will come today: Today the results of more than a hundred companies including Tata Motors, BPCL, Indian Oil, UPL, Sun Pharma, DLF, Ajanta Pharma, Exide, Shipping Corporation, UCO Bank and GIC Housing Finance will be declared.

- HDFC: In the price range of Rs 2490- Rs 2510, you can take a long position by placing a stop loss of Rs 2470 at the target price of Rs 2580.
- LUPIN: In the price range of Rs 888-895, you can take a long position with a target price of Rs 925 and a stop loss of Rs 880.
