Mahindra Xuv700
Mahindra’s new XUV700 will be launched in India later this year. The company has previously rolled out details on key specifications of the car including auto booster headlamps, smart pop-up handles, driver attention monitor and widest roof. The domestic automaker has confirmed via its social media handle that the upcoming new-gen Mahindra XUV700 will also get Smart Filter Technology to make the cabin air safer.
Smart filter technology is claimed to filter out 99 percent of bacteria and 95 percent of viruses from the car, but it has not been tested against the coronavirus. The new XUV700 will be one of the best cars from Mahindra. It will benefit from a dual-screen high-resolution display on the inside, which has taken inspiration from the screens found in high-end luxury cars. This display will also serve as a touchscreen infotainment system and instrument cluster.
New XUV700 to get advanced driver assistance system
Apart from this, other key features of the model will include leather-wrapped multi-function flat-bottom steering wheel, reading lamp, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, etc. The car can get Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) to achieve Level-2 Advanced. Needless to say, the upcoming XUV700 will be one of the best cars for its segment. The XUV700 is further expected to feature a 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, auto emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.
Will be offered with both diesel and petrol engine options
The XUV700 will be built on the new W601 platform. It will be manufactured at the company’s Chakan facility in Maharashtra. It is said to be offered with both automatic and manual transmission units in both diesel and petrol engine options. It will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine, which will be mated to a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission. As part of the optional kit, an all-wheel-drive system is also expected to be offered.
Upon launch, it is expected to be priced between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom). It will give tough competition to Jeep Compass and Tata Harrier SUV.
