Siemens Limited and Hinduja Group’s Switch Mobility Automotive Limited have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enter the electric commercial vehicle segment. Siemens is also known as Siemens Financial Services (SFS), which is the financing branch of Siemens AG. Switch Mobility Automotive said that it has joined hands with Siemens Limited to utilize the opportunities in the electric vehicle market in India.
Siemens said in a statement that while Switch mobility will bring its electric commercial vehicles to India, Siemens will provide charging infrastructure technology and charging infrastructure management software solutions to enhance the energy-efficient operation of chargers. According to Siemens, he is also looking for new business models such as e-mobility-as-a-service (EMAS), integrated depot energy management, vehicle-to-grid (V2G) as well as on-site / off-, renewable energy sources. The site will also collaborate with Switch Mobility.
The MoU aims to provide efficient, cost-effective and sustainable e-vehicle solutions to various commercial vehicle customers in the country. “With our experience of more than 230 electric vehicles in India and the UK, we are seeing extensive growth opportunities in the expansion of the Switch in India, Europe and many global markets,” Switch Mobility Chairman Dheeraj Hinduja said in a statement.

We are implementing projects for electric commercial vehicles worldwide. With Switch Mobility, we intend to implement high-quality techno-business solutions to meet the needs of the growing e-mobile market in India. ”
Switch Mobility Automotive and OHM are subsidiaries of Ashok Leyland Limited, the flagship company of Global Mobility Commercial Vehicles. To achieve this goal, Ashok Leyland said Switch Mobility Electric will bring its experience in the commercial vehicle industry sector while Siemens will offer high-efficiency and charging infrastructure technology.
