Royal Enfield has donated Rs 2 crore to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund to aid the state in its fight against the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Royal Enfield Chief Executive Officer Vinod K Dasari handed over a check of Rs 2 crore to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin at the Secretariat here. Dasari said, “Tamil Nadu is known as the home of Royal Enfield motorcycles and we are committed to support all efforts of the state to tackle the devastating second wave of the pandemic. Our commitment to support the state government is bolstered today with the many initiatives that Royal Enfield is undertaking in the area to provide relief to the community.”
“We continue to assess the situation closely and will take necessary steps to provide further support for relief and rehabilitation efforts in the long run,” he added.
With the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic severely affecting the manufacturing operations at its plants, Royal Enfield recorded total sales of only 27,294 units in May 2021. During the month, the company sold 20,073 units in the domestic market and exported 7,221 units.

The company recently partnered with five custom bike builders in the Asia-Pacific region, including Australian Mark Hawa, founder of The Distinguished Gentleman Ride. The idea is to showcase the custom capabilities of the Royal Enfield bike and some custom builds and works of stable builders like Mark Hawa, Dan Dimas, Off Grid Kit, Bandit 9 and Crazy Garage. From bolt-on kits to Himalayan on the Build 650 Twins have been showcased in various markets in the Asia-Pacific region where Royal Enfield is growing rapidly.
