Land Rover India has launched the 2021 Range Rover Sport SVR, priced at Rs 2.19 crore (ex-showroom). Its performance SUV brings together the luxury of the RR Sport with a powerful supercharged engine manufactured by the automaker’s Special Vehicle Operations division. It is the most powerful Land Rover vehicle ever built and comes to India as a CBU from Coventry, UK.
This is the British automaker’s flagship offering to go on sale. Speaking at the launch, Rohit Suri, President and Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover India said, “The Range Rover SVR redefines and advances performance and luxury in an SUV by leveraging the best of British design and engineering. I am sure Range Rover Sport SUV enthusiasts and fans will love this latest offering combining British engineering prowess with high end and refined luxury.”
What’s special about 2021 Range Rover Sport
- The 2021 Range Rover Sport SVR is powered by a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine that generates 567 Bhp of power and 700 Nm of peak torque.
- The motor is mated to an 8-speed torque converter. Pairing the engine with the lightweight aluminum architecture of the Range Rover Sport, the SUV is capable of accelerating from 0-100 kmph in 4.5 seconds.
- Top speed is 280 kmph. Land Rover says that the RR Sport SVR SUV receives bespoke enhancements to the chassis for greater mobility handling without compromising on capacity.
- The Range Rover Sport SVR gets an upgrade to better differentiate the model over the standard variant. This includes better brakes, new and bigger air intakes in the bumper for cooling.
- The brake pads and discs have also been upgraded for better performance at high temperatures. The SUV also gets the body-coloured detailing at the rear and the SVR badge to further differentiate the performance offerings.
- In the cabin, the Range Rover Sport SVR gets lightweight SVR performance seats that are made of high quality leather. The feature list is impressive and includes an 825-watt 19-speaker Meridian surround sound system.
