Electric vehicles are being promoted continuously across the country. In this episode, after Maharashtra, Gujarat and Delhi, Rajasthan has also announced an electric policy. The main objective of Rajasthan’s Electric Vehicle Policy is to increase the demand for zero-emission vehicles. For this, the government will provide subsidy on two-wheeler and three-wheeler to the customers.
According to this policy, the State Component of GST (SGST) will be returned to the customers of Rajasthan Government. Only those customers who will buy electric vehicles between April 2021 and March 2022 can take advantage of this offer. Apart from SGST refund, customers will also be given cash subsidy on electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers. The cash available in this will be between 5 thousand to 20 thousand rupees, which will depend on the size of the battery.
You will get a discount of up to 20 thousand rupees
Talking about two-wheelers, a discount of 5 to 10 thousand rupees will be available on its purchase, which will depend on the battery of 2 kWh and more than 5KWh. On the other hand, if we talk about three-wheeler, then this discount will be between 10 to 20 thousand rupees. This discount will be dependent on the battery capacity of 3kWh and above 5kWh. However, like other states, the Rajasthan government will not give any cash subsidy on passenger vehicles or electric buses. Apart from this, this subsidy is less than the subsidy available in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Delhi.
Let us tell you that two and three wheelers are on the highest demand in the market of electric vehicles. That’s why governments are announcing subsidy on it. On the other hand, if we talk about the present time, people are buying electric two-wheelers fiercely due to Corona epidemic and rising petrol prices. At the same time, the demand for electric three-wheelers has also increased significantly, due to which there is a strong demand among small businesses. Therefore, the Rajasthan government is also offering subsidy to increase sales in both these segments.
Subsidy is being given in these states
If we talk about the subsidy received on electric vehicles, then Delhi had first started the electric vehicle policy. The Delhi government, which launched the EV policy in August 2020, expects to introduce 5 lakh electric vehicles in the city by 2024. Apart from this, Gujarat had announced the Electric Vehicle Policy in June 2021 and is expecting the registration of 2 lakh EVs which includes 110,000 two wheelers, 70 thousand three wheelers and 20 thousand four wheelers. Apart from this, Maharashtra has announced EV policy in July 2021.
