The motorcycles are powered by a 1254 cc boxer-twin engine with variable valve timing system, which generates 136 Bhp of power at 7750 rpm and 143 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm.
Bmw R 1250 Gs
BMW Motorrad is all set to launch the BS6 BMW R 1250 GS Adventure in the coming weeks. Dealerships across India have started taking pre-bookings for the updated model. We expect the 2021 R 1250 GS to be launched in the coming days. Not only this, the company will simultaneously launch the even more hard-core R 1250 GS Adventure along with the BS6 model of the BMW R 1250 GS. The company has been teasing the launch of the motorcycle for the past one week.
We are sure that the company will launch both these motorcycles with an updated list of features and possibly the ’40 Year GS’ color scheme as well. The updated model is already available for sale in other parts of the world. The ’40 Years of GS’ color scheme includes Black and Yellow, which was launched in October 2020 to mark the 40th anniversary of the BMW R series motorcycles. The bike is completely black, with yellow accessories, a throwback to the classic BMW R100 motorcycle.
The motorcycle will get 1254 cc boxer-twin engine
The motorcycle gets a 1254 cc boxer-twin engine with a variable valve timing system, which BMW calls ‘Shiftcam Technology’. Of course, it will also be BS6 compliant. The boxer-twin engine now produces 136 Bhp at 7750 rpm and 143 Nm of torque at 6,250 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. It also gets a new ‘Eco’ riding mode, which integrates the ShiftCam system on the engine for better fuel performance by planeing the throttle curve and reducing torque.
Likely to get new integral ABS Pro
The new model is also likely to get a new integral ABS Pro as a standard fitment instead of an optional accessory on the previous model. Integral ABS Pro is a linked system wherein the hand lever activates both the front and rear brakes simultaneously, while the brake pedal operates only the rear brake. The integral ABS system uses a 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) to optimize for better braking performance for both on-road and off-road riding.
HSC and HSC Pro System Updated
The updated R 1250 GS and GSA are likely to get new adaptive cornering lights, with the headlight reflector capable of rotating in a 30 degree arc. The light can also integrate the height with a pillar on the board. BMW says that it has updated the Hill Start Control (HSC) system on the motorcycle and updated it to the HSC Pro. Extra features include heated rider and passenger seats, as well as heated grips that now offer five steps of control via the TFT instrument console.
In India, the BMW R 1250 GS will take on the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin and the soon-to-be-launched Ducati Multistrada V4.
