This reduction in the price has been done after the amendment in the subsidy in the FAME-II scheme launched by the Central Government to encourage electric vehicles and the Electric Vehicle Policy 2021.
Ampere Electric
Ampere Electric on Tuesday slashed the price of its electric scooter in Gujarat by Rs 27,000. The company has taken this step after giving additional incentives from the state government and increased subsidy from the center under the FAME-II scheme. Under the new price, the company’s Magnus model will now be available for Rs 47,990 instead of Rs 74,990, Ampere Electric said in a statement. Similarly, the Zeal model will now be available for Rs 41,990 instead of Rs 68,990. All prices are ex-showroom.
The company has said that this reduction has been done after the revision of subsidy in the FAME-two scheme launched by the central government to encourage electric vehicles and the Electric Vehicle Policy 2021 of the Gujarat government. The Department of Heavy Industries has recently increased the demand incentive for Electric Two Wheelers (E2W) to Rs 15,000 per kWh while reforming the Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles and Accelerated Acquisition (FAME-II) scheme in India. hour is done.
Earlier it was Rs 10,000 per kWh for all types of electric vehicles except buses. Along with this, the incentive amount for E2W in the scheme has been increased to 40 percent of the cost of the vehicle as against 20 percent earlier. Along with this, the Gujarat government has recently announced a demand incentive of Rs 10,000 for E2W, Electric three wheeler (E3W) and Electric four wheeler (E4W).
This amount will be on top of the subsidy assistance received from the central government. The maximum ex-factory price for these three categories of vehicles has been fixed at Rs 1.5 lakh, Rs 5 lakh and Rs 15 lakh. The company has said, “After the price cut, the big scooter of Ampere Electric has also become very cheap and now it is available in Gujarat for less than Rs 50,000.”
Let us tell you that electric two-wheeler companies believe that under FAME-II, the government has taken a ‘great step’ by increasing the subsidy on vehicles (electric) by 50 percent. This will prove to be a dice-turning step with a view to increasing the acceptability of eco-friendly vehicles in the country.
