ICAT says that there is a problem with the software, which can be fixed by re-flashing and updating the software. The solution has also been verified by ICAT.
The Mg Hector 2021 was launched by MG Motor India in January.
MG Motor India said that it will recall around 14,000 units of the BS6 Hector with dual-clutch gearbox (DCT). Vehicles Some models failed the Production (COP) test at the International Center for Automotive Technology (ICAT) in Manesar, Haryana. COP testing revealed that there is an error in hydrocarbon and NOx emission.
ICAT says that there is a problem with the software, which can be fixed by re-flashing and updating the software. The solution has also been verified by ICAT. Now, MG is waiting for the formal approval for the solution from ICAT and after that, the company will initiate the process of notifying the customers wherein the dealers will reach out to them. MG Motor India expects to complete the re-flashing of the affected Hector units by December 2021. Till now MG Motor India has sold more than 60,000 units of Hector.
Feature of 2021 mg Hector Facelift
The 2021 MG Hector facelift comes with some much needed visual updates. The biggest grille upfront is the new chrome-studded pattern, which reminds us of the ZS EV and looks good on the Hector as well. Also, the skid plates on the front and rear bumpers are now finished in gunmetal grey, while the pre-facelift model gets a satin finish. The biggest change has been done inside the cabin. The 2021 MG Hector gets new interior trim, which continues with the existing all-black scheme as well as a new dual-tone champagne-gold color option. The lighter tone interior looks better and also comes with ambient lighting.
Talking about engine options, the 2021 Hector will continue to get the 2.0-litre diesel engine as well as the existing 1.5-litre petrol motors. The petrol and petrol-hybrid variants generate 141 bhp power and 250 Nm torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and an optional DCT automatic for the petrol-only variants. The diesel engine, on the other hand, generates 168 bhp power and 350 Nm peak torque and is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
