Maruti Suzuki has today crossed another milestone on 27 February. This car company has touched the milestone of exporting more than 2 million cars. The export of Maruti Suzuki cars began about 34 years ago. Among the cars exported today, Maruti Suzuki S-Preso, Brezza and the new Swift. These cars have been exported to South Africa from Gujarat’s Mundra Port. The company exports 14 model cars to more than 100 countries.
According to the information given by the company, the first major consignment it exported consisted of 500 cars and it was sent to Hungary in September 1987. In 2012-13, the company touched the milestone of exporting 10 lakh vehicles. More than 50 percent of the company’s exports have been sent to developed countries in Europe. However, now the company says that the focus is being towards Latin America, Asia and Africa. The popular cars of Maruti at these places are Dzire, Swift, Alto and Baleno.

Kenichi Ayukawa, managing director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, says that the company is committed to PM Modi’s ‘Make in India’ campaign and the export of 20 lakh vehicles is a proof of that. Ayukawa says that Maruti started exporting cars 34 years ago, before coming into a significant role in the global automobile business. This helped the company to improve its quality and achieve the global benchmark. The company currently exports about 150 variants of 14 models in more than 100 countries. According to Ayukawa’s claim, his cars made in India are very well liked due to the quality, safety, design and technology of the world.

Jimny is expected to enter the Indian market
Last month, Maruti started exporting left hand drive Jimny models. After this, it is estimated that the company may soon bring its right-hand version in 2021 this year. The compact SUV is Jimny’s 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated petrol engine for power. This motor is also available in Ertiga, Ciaz, XL6, S-Cross and Brezza. This engine produces 104hp power and 138Nm torque. It also has a 5-speed manual or 4-speed auto.
