The wait is finally over and Maruti Suzuki has launched “India’s Most Efficient Petrol Car” Celerio 2021 in the entry segment hatchback with a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The price of the vehicle goes up to Rs.6.94 lakh (ex-showroom). Celerio 2021 comes with a host of special features like new 7-inch touchscreen console, push buttons for start and stop, auto engine start/stop, multi-function steering wheel to entice young buyers.
Maruti Suzuki Celerio 2021 will be available in Fire Red and Speedy Blue color options. MSI claims that the fuel efficient car, the Celerio 2021, will deliver a mileage of 26.68 kmpl.
According to Livemint, Kenichi Ayukawa, MD and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India, said, “The auto industry faced disruptions due to Covid-19 and is still facing chipset shortages. The Indian car market accounts for 46 per cent of the market share. It is a hatchback. The all-new Celerio will be loved by the new age customers. High on style, the Celerio 2021 will garner a lot of appreciation from today’s customers.”
The Celerio 2021 gets a new grille with a chrome bar that extends the length of the new swept-back headlamps, LED headlights, a new bumper and flared wheel arches. The interiors come in an all-black theme, faux aluminum accents throughout the cabin, vertical AC vents and much more.

In terms of safety, the Celerio will come equipped with two front air bags, ABS and reversing sensor along with a camera on the console panel. For fun, the car supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio 2021 is powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder K10c petrol engine. Transmission options, 5 speed manual gearbox and 5 speed AMT. The dual jet, dual VVT K-series engine with idle start-stop technology produces 89Nm of torque at 3500rpm and 50kW of power at 6000rpm.
Maruti Suzuki had started its pre-booking from Rs 11,000. The company has a 72% market share in the mid-hatch segment. Celerio has been one of the best selling car models in the country since its launch in 2014.
So far 5.9 lakh Celerio units have been sold. The current models of Celerio in petrol and CNG start at Rs 4.66 lakhs and go up to Rs 6.00 lakhs. The petrol variant ranges between Rs 4.66 lakh – Rs 5.83 lakh and the CNG variant is priced between Rs 5.95 lakh – Rs 6.00 lakh.
