Maruti is once again targeting that segment in which customers can be given a lot of features at a low price. In such a situation, if the company is successful in doing this, then the company can get a lot of benefit from it.
Maruti is planning best vehicles in low budget
Maruti as a manufacturer has not launched many products this year. But the company has a list of cars coming soon. The first of these will be the next-gen Celerio, which will be a significant launch for the company. Like the Celerio, the new generation Maruti Alto is also another important product for the brand. Alto as a product is known for its low maintenance cost and high reliability. The car has been waiting for a generation update for some time now, which will make its way in the market in the coming times.
The new-gen Alto is likely to feature smooth-edged body panels, similar to the upcoming Maruti Celerio. It will get a completely new front end with a new grille. Apart from this, the bumpers will also be new in the car. This will give a completely fresh design to the next generation Maruti Alto. It is also expected to get a new rear section with newly designed taillamps. This time LED DRL can also be given with the car.
Almost all new Maruti cars have shifted to the Heartect platform. So here we can expect the Alto to be based on the Heartect platform as well. Considering the fact that the S-Presso is also built on the Heartect platform, there should be no problem for Maruti to use this platform on the Alto. A new platform could also open up the possibilities of using the 1000cc engine that can be seen in the Maruti S-Presso.
The current generation misses out on a lot of features due to the budget, however, here’s hoping that Maruti will offer the new generation Alto with decent features. The company is expected to offer all four power windows, a touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, driver and co-driver seat belt reminder and speed alert system.
The price of the current generation Maruti Alto starts from Rs 3.56 lakh and goes up to Rs 5.32 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The price of the next generation will be slightly higher to justify the new features offered in the car. The launch of the Alto has been delayed due to the pandemic and it is expected to be launched by the middle of 2022.
