FY21 was very bad for the auto industry and many companies went on the back foot due to this. During this it seemed that everything was slowly getting better that only then the second wave of Corona created more trouble for these companies. In terms of FY22 sales, it looks quite far at the moment. Due to the lockdown in the states, the manufacturing of companies came to a complete halt. In such a situation, now the car companies have increased the prices to compensate for this loss.
Maruti is currently at the top of this list. Due to the increase in the input cost, the companies have increased the prices of the vehicle here. Maruti Suzuki has increased the prices for the quarter 2 FY22 (Q3 2021). In such a situation, the new prices can be implemented from July 2021.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited said in its regulatory filing that, you are informed that the prices of the company’s vehicles have been continuously affected due to the increase in input cost since the last few years. Therefore, by increasing the prices of these vehicles, it has become imperative to pass some of the burden on the customers. With this, the company further said that these prices will vary on different models.
The company is continuously increasing the price
The company first increased the prices of its vehicles in January, after which this increase was seen again in April 2021. The latest increase that was seen was in April which was 1.6 percent ex-showroom Delhi. At the same time, on January 18, 2021, this price was from 5 thousand to 34 thousand rupees.
Let us tell the customers here that, Maruti has not yet told that, from the next quarter, an increase of how many thousand rupees will be seen. But one thing is certain that the prices of Alto, WagonR, Swift, DZire, Brezza and Ertinga will be increased.
Maruti’s dominance in the car market is strengthened by its wide range of small cars. This includes a range of mini and compact cars. Consistent sales help MSIL to get the majority of the total cars sold in India.
