Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) will deliver 1000 units of its new SUV Thar during the Diwali festival. The company gave this information on Friday. The company launched its SUV on October 2. It has been introduced in two variants AX and LX with petrol and diesel options. The showroom price of the new Thar is between Rs 9.8 lakh and Rs 13.75 lakh.
Since launch, Mahindra has started delivery of Thar from 1 November. The first unit was sold in September last to the customer who won the online bid. After this, 500 Thar deliveries were delivered across the country last week. The company said on Friday the statement that during the Diwali festival, the company will deliver 1000 units across the country.
Delivery according to available variants
The company says that delivery is being done on the basis of the availability of the order in which the variants have been booked. Vijay Nakra, CEO of Mahindra & Mahindra Automotive Dillijn, says that the company has provided a better option for customers during the festive season. So far, 500 thars have been successfully delivered across the country.
Bid of Rs 1.11 crore for the first unit
The company held an online auction for the first unit of the new Mahindra Thar. In this auction, the highest bid for the first unit of New Thar was Rs 1.11 crore. At this price, the first 2020 Mahindra Thar became Akash Minda of Delhi. The money received from the auction will be used in the charity. The new Thar AX trim is purely for off-road enthusiasts. At the same time, LX trim has more comfort features.

Available in both petrol and diesel engines
The new 2020 Mahindra Thar is available in two engine options. One of these is a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine, which produces 152hp of power. At the same time, the second is a 2.2 liter diesel engine, which produces 132hp of power. There is a 6 speed manual and automatic gearbox with both engines. Apart from this, the manual shift part-time 4 wheel drive system with high and low reduction gear will also be available.
The LX trim will be a more premium version. There will also be a diesel-manual version with an automatic gearbox for both petrol and diesel engines. Apart from this, the LX trim will have additional features such as 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system, R18 alloy wheels with all-terrain tires, LED DRL, fog lamps, reverse parking sensors. The hydraulic power-assisted steering wheel is provided in the new Thar.
