Mahindra & Mahindra said on Tuesday that its new SUV Thar has received 9,000 bookings within four days of booking commencement. According to the statement issued by the company, in the first phase, its booking has started in 18 cities of the country. In these cities, test driving and demo performance of SUVs are also available.
VJ Nakra, CEO of Mahindra & Mahindra’s automotive division, said, “The test drive facility for the SUV is available only in 18 cities. Despite this, we have got 9,000 bookings since launching it for new Thar. This is unexpected in the case of vehicles in this segment.
Mahindra & Mahindra introduced its new Thar last Friday. Its price has been kept from Rs 9.8 lakh to Rs 13.75 lakh (ex-showroom). The company has introduced the new Thar in two models AX and LX. There are options for both petrol and diesel powertrains. The design and engineering of the SUV has been done entirely in India. It will be prepared at the company’s Nashik plant.

The new 2020 Mahindra Thar will get two engine options. One of these will be a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine, which generates 152hp of power. Bookings can be made online from Mahindra’s official website or by visiting any Mahindra dealership. The car’s test drive will start in three phases.
