Mahindra & Mahindra has started the countdown for the launch of a new product on their official website and it is more likely to be the XUV700. The week-long countdown indicates that the XUV700 will be launched on August 15. Considering that Mahindra showcases its products on patriotic special days, all this confirms the launch of the XUV700 Cup.
Several leaks and spy shots of the three-row SUV have surfaced in the recent past and based on these it has been found that it will be an update to a new lineup of Mahindra offerings in the coming years. It will be sold in 6 and 7 seater configurations and will be based on a monocoque structure with an all-wheel-drive configuration to be retailed in the top-spec variant. The Mahindra XUV700 gets a prominent front fascia with vertical slats and a busy bumper section, while the LED headlamp cluster is sharp and gets integrated C-shaped LED daytime running lights.
According to leaks, the XUV700 gets a large greenhouse with a raked front windshield, smart pop-out door handles, wheel arches and a notable kink along the edges.
Mahindra XUV700 will see these changes
At the rear end, horizontal wraparound LED tail lamps and skid plates can also be seen with shark fin antennas, high-mounted stop lamps and an integrated spoiler. The interiors of the Mahindra XUV700 are more subject to change than any other SUV from the brand currently on sale. It gets a new dashboard and center console layout along with two large landscape-oriented screens. One for the touchscreen infotainment system and the other for the instrumentation.
Under the bonnet, a 2.2-litre diesel engine producing 185 hp power and a 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 200 hp power will be used. Both will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard while a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit will be an option. Mahindra XUV700 is expected to reach showrooms around October 2021
Some of the key highlights of this three-row SUV are personal security alert, multi-functional steering wheel, biggest sunroof in its category, body-hugging seats, adjustable headrest etc. Going forward, it will compete with Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and MG Hector Plus.
