American automobile manufacturer Jeep is going to bring a new version of its famous SUV Jeep Wrangler to India. Last month, in January 2022, FCA India made public plans to assemble and bring new versions of vehicles in India. On 23 February, the group company announced its second global product Jeep Wrangler which is Made In India. It has been built at the Ranjangaon plant near Pune. According to the information given by the company, two other products will be launched soon from this plant. Jeep India says that the official Jeep Wrangler will be launched on 15 March. However, its pre-booking has started through 26 Jeep dealerships located across the country.
Talking about the price and specifications, its disclosure will be known only on launch. Although it is being made locally, i.e. if it is being manufactured in the country itself, the ex-showroom price of Jeep Wrangler can be 55 lakhs. Currently, SUV prices start at Rs 63.49 lakhs.

Land Rover and Mercedes will get tough competition
In its CKD avatar, the Wrangler may have a diesel engine that reduces fuel consumption and provides better low-end torque. CKD (Completely Knocked Down) means that parts of a car or bike are imported and assembled at the plant locally to produce a final product. Speaking of competition, the Jeep Wrangler can get a tough competition from the Land Rover. Apart from this, it can also get tough competition from Mercedes-AMD G63 model.
Expect 8-speed automatic gearbox in new model
The Jeep Wrangler model currently available in the country is BS6. It has a 4 cylinder, 2 liter turbo petrol engine which generates 266hp power and 400Nm peak torque. The new SUV may get an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Jeep India currently sells Wrangler Unlimited and Rubicon versions.
