Along with the central government, various state governments are also making plans to promote electric vehicles in the country. The Maharashtra government has now decided to buy or rent only electric vehicles. State Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray said that earlier the date was fixed for 1 April, which has now been done from the beginning of this year. Now only electric vehicles will be bought or rented for the use of state government and urban bodies. Earlier in the capital Delhi also, measures were announced to encourage electric vehicles. The Delhi government has allowed vehicles with diesel engines that are more than 10 years old to be converted into electric vehicles. With this, the decision to ban these diesel engined vehicles will be avoided.
