Famous automaker Hyundai Motor India has launched its premium 6 and 7-seater SUV Alcazar on Friday. On this, a senior company official has said that India’s second largest car maker Hyundai Motor India Limited is expecting good sales in its Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) segment with the launch of 6/7 seater Alcazar.
He further said, “The contribution of about 45 percent of the total sales of the company remains from its SUVs. With the launch of the premium SUV 6 / 7 seater Alcazar, the sales of the SUV are expected to increase.”
Last year the company sold 575,877 units
In the last financial year, the company sold a total of 575,877 units including sales and exports in the domestic market. Speaking on the launch of the company’s new premium SUV 6/7 seater Alcazar on Friday, Tarun Garg, Director (Marketing and Sales), Hyundai India told reporters that SUVs (Venue, Creta, Kona and SUVs) contribute 45 per cent to the company’s sales. Garg said that due to the COVID epidemic, people are mostly preferring to travel by their vehicles and since the process of vaccination is also going on. He said that the work on the third shift in the factory is going to start from Monday.
Hyundai Alcazar Price and Specifications
Hyundai has introduced the Alcazar in two variants of 6 and 7-seater. According to the company, the price of 7-seater petrol version starts at Rs 16.30 lakh, while the starting price of 6-seater SUV with manual transmission car is Rs 16.45 lakh and AT variant starts at Rs 17.93 lakh.
Apart from this, the starting price for the diesel version of the 7-seater car with manual transmission has been kept at Rs 16.53 lakh and the AT variant has been priced at Rs 18.01 lakh. The starting price of the 6-seater SUV in manual transmission is Rs 16.68 lakh and Rs 19.78 lakh for the AT variant.
According to the company, the Alcazar will be offered with four powertrain options – 2.0-litre petrol MPI engine (6AT or 6MT) and 1.5-litre diesel CRDI engine (6AT or 6MT). The company claims that this SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 10 seconds.
