Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 15 August announced the launch of the National Hydrogen Mission to boost India’s energy adequacy and security goals. In his Independence Day speech, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for energy independence and said the plan aims to make India a global hub for green hydrogen production and exports.
He said that out of all the programs being done in the country today, which will help India to take a big leap, that is the area of Green Hydrogen. PM Modi said, under the national flag, I am announcing the National Hydrogen Mission. The Prime Minister also said that India will have to take a pledge to become independent in the field of energy before 100 years of its independence. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also announced the launch of Rs 100 lakh crore Gatishakti scheme soon to build advanced basic infrastructure and create employment opportunities in the country.
how car will run on water
Currently, two types of technology are used in India to make hydrogen gas. In one of these methods, hydrogen is separated by electrolysis of water. That is, cars will be able to run with hydrodon made with the help of water. However, this method will be possible only for those cars, which support hydrogen gas fuel. In other ways, natural gas is broken down into hydrogen and carbon. The hydrogen obtained from this is used as fuel.
Declaration to make India self-reliant in terms of energy
Pradhan Mantri Gatishakti- National Master Plan will improve the system of traffic including airport, new roads and rail schemes along with promoting industrial activities and will create employment opportunities for the youth. The PM also announced to make India self-reliant in terms of energy by 2047.
Addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the 75th Independence Day, the Prime Minister said, “India needs a holistic approach to the infrastructure sector with modern infrastructure. Gatishakti – National Master Plan scheme will be started soon in this direction. More than Rs 100 lakh crore Gatishakti-National Master Plan will bring employment opportunities to the youth and will help in the overall development of infrastructure.
Modi said that the country has to spend more than Rs 12 lakh crore every year to meet the energy needs.
Obviously, India imports about 85 percent of its total petroleum and other energy needs. On the other hand, in the case of natural gas, half of the requirement comes from the supply from abroad.
