Safety standards are changing in passenger cars from 1 April next month. Now airbags will be provided for the driver as well as the side seat. Two years ago in the early months of the year 2019, a safety rule was introduced for all passenger cars under which airbags and ABS (anti-lock braking system) were made mandatory. However, under this, in most passenger cars, only the driver side was given airbags and in some models airbags were given on both the front seats. Now by order of the government, airbags will be provided for both the front seats in all cars built from April 1, 2021.
Talking about the current cars, airbags can be given in the passenger side from August 31, 2021 in cars like Maruti Suzuki S-Preso STD and Renault Kwid. The Supreme Court had requested the government to provide airbags for passenger seats under the Road Safety Initiative. Passenger airbags must meet AIS 145 standard standards.

Passenger airbags are available now for 5 thousand rupees
Airbags are very important for safety. In the event of an accident, not only the driver but also the passenger sitting on the seat next to the driver in front, causes physical damage. In such a situation, the decision to give airbags for both seats is better. Currently, many manufacturers are offering passenger airbags as an option for a fee. Most manufacturers charge an additional fee of about 5 thousand rupees for passenger airbags.
