Seniors were also involved in making the electric bike along with the students studying in the college. The special feature of this bike is its electric charging. On a single charge, this bike gives a range of 100 km.
Electric Bike Made By Students
A team of third and fourth year engineering college students have come up with a prototype of an electric bike that can charge wirelessly. Students from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, KL College of Engineering as well as some alumni of the university took the wraps off e-bikes with futuristic features including cell balancing and wireless charging.
The team developed the initial concept and prototype using its free access to labs and testing facilities with the advice of experts and senior academics at KL Deemed University. The students have now been awarded Rs 1.4 lakh for developing this project idea as a start-up.
The speed of 55 Kmph is
The team said that the electric bike claims a range of 85 to 100 km in standard condition, which takes five hours on a single charge. Its top speed is 55 km/h. The charging technology is coupled with programmable cell balancing feature that releases maximum battery capacity for longer lasting charge.
The team retrofitted an existing bike and modified it into a prototype of an e-bike with wireless charging. The team made several changes in the design of the bike which includes the inclusion of a BLDC motor (brushless DC electric motor) in the gear module through the controller.
