Keeping in mind the uncertainties of the supply chain, Bajaj Auto took this step.
Within 48 hours of the commencement of booking for its electric scooter, Bajaj Chetak, Bajaj Auto stopped the booking of this scooter. The company took this step keeping in mind the uncertainties of the supply chain. Booking opened from the company on April 13 at 9 am on the auspicious day of ‘Gudi Padwa’, which received a very enthusiastic response from the customers. Customers could book Chetak online on first come first served basis. In a statement on Thursday, the company said it received a resounding response after reopening bookings for Chetak in Bangalore and Pune.
Bajaj Auto said, a large number of confirmed orders were sent from customers, after which the company had to stop accepting bookings within 48 hours. The company will review the supply situation and announce the next round of booking.
Booking closed within 48 hours
According to the statement, disruptions caused by the COVID epidemic last year resulted in unintended and long waiting periods for customers. Despite the disruptions, Bajaj saw fewer cases of cancellations.
Executive Director of Bajaj Auto Limited, Rakesh Sharma said, “We are very happy to get a great response on the reopening of bookings for Chetak electric scooters in Pune and Bengaluru. We thank our customers in these two cities for their patience and now for this vigorous response.
