Toyota Urban Cruiser: Japanese auto giant Toyota Motors has decided that it is going to recall its urban cruiser sub compact SUV vehicles. There is a problem in the airbags of these vehicles. In such a situation, the carmaker now has to recall 9498 vehicles. According to the report, those urban cruiser SUVs which are built between 28 July 2020 and 11 February 2021 are being recalled.
In these SUVs, this problem is seen in the driver side. In such a situation, the car maker will test these SUVs by adding new airbags. Customers who are facing this problem will be called on behalf of the company’s authorized dealerships. After this, the vehicle will be taken to the service center after the entire test.
Toyota Motor launched the sub four meter compact SUV Urban Cruiser in the Indian market in September last year. The Urban Cruiser SUV is based on Maruti Suzuki’s popular Vitara Brezza sub-compact SUV. The Urban Cruiser is a spin-off from the Maruti Vitara Brezza and sports the same exterior design and style.
The Urban Cruiser SUV is powered by a 1.5 liter 4 cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 105bhp of power and 138Nm of torque. This engine comes with 5-speed manual and 4-speed torque converter gearbox. Hybrid technology has also been included in its automatic variants. Its manual version gives a mileage of 17.03 km per liter and automatic variants up to 18.76 km per liter.
The Urban Cruiser SUV is available in the market in three variants, which include Mid, High and Premium. The price of the mid-grade MT, the entry-level variant of the Urban Cruiser SUV, starts at 8.40 lakhs and goes up to 11.50 lakhs.
