Prices of the Ford Figo manual currently start at Rs 5.82 lakh (ex-showroom) and the automatic transmission option is expected to be available on the mid and top variants.
The Ford Figo Automatic will be launched in India on July 22.
Ford India has teased the new automatic transmission variant of the Figo hatchback ahead of the confirmation of its launch on July 22, 2021. The updated version of the car is expected to get a 1.2-litre petrol engine with a torque converter. There are already several automatic hatchbacks to choose from in this segment and the Figo is finally joining the segment.
The torque converter Ford EcoSport subcompact SUV is likely to be powered by a 6-speed unit. On the model, it has been paired with a 1.5-litre petrol engine. Except for the new transmission option, the Ford Figo is expected to be pretty much the same with the 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol motor making 95 bhp and 119 Nm of peak torque. It is currently available with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

It is currently unclear whether Ford India will also offer an automatic transmission on the Aspire subcompact sedan that uses the same engine.

The six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox is the same that the carmaker offers for its 1.5-litre, three-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine with the EcoSport compact SUV. It is still unclear whether the same transmission will be offered for the Aspire and Freestyle, which get the same petrol engine as the Figo. For the diesel variants, an automatic gearbox is not likely at the moment.
