Auto Sales in August 2021: There has been an increase in the sales of the country’s big auto companies in the month of August. The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) on Wednesday said its total sales grew five per cent to 1,30,699 units in August 2021 amid a shortage of electronic components. MSIL said in a statement that the company had sold 1,24,624 units in the same month last year.
Tata Motors sales up 53%
At the same time, Tata Motors said that its total domestic sales in August increased by 53 percent to 54,190 units as compared to the same month last year. The company sold 35,420 units of vehicles in August 2020. The company said that its passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market stood at 28,018 units in August, up 51 per cent as compared to 18,583 units in the same month last year.
Mahindra & Mahindra said that its domestic passenger vehicle vehicle sales in August 2021 increased by 17 per cent to 15,973 units from the same month last year. The company said in a statement that it had sold 13,651 vehicles in August 2020. Chennai-based TVS Motor Company said on Wednesday that its total sales in August 2021 increased by one percent to 2,90,694 units. In the same month last year, the company had sold a total of 2,87,398 units.

On the other hand, Hyundai Motor India Limited said that its total sales in August grew by 12.3 per cent to 59,068 units. The company said in a statement that the company had sold 52,609 units in the same month last year.
