In Delhi, this policy has been implemented under the Fame-2 scheme of the Central Government. Several incentive schemes have been devised to promote the manufacture and sale of electric vehicles in the Fame-2 scheme under which manufacturers are being incentivized to create infrastructure for tax exemption, indigenous equipment manufacturing or charging.

Electric vehicle policy will be implemented in Delhi for 3 years after which the government will review this policy. Under this policy, subsidy will be given on the cost of electric vehicle in Delhi. How much subsidy will be given on which vehicle will depend on the type of vehicle. Under the policy, a rebate of Rs 30,000 will be given on the purchase of electric two-wheelers, autorickshaws, e-rickshaws, and freight trains, while a rebate of Rs 1.5 lakh will be given on the purchase of electric cars.

Apart from this, road tax and registration fee on electric cars and two-wheelers will be completely waived. The loan interest on the electric commercial vehicle will also be waived. The Delhi government says that this policy is expected to boost the economy and the government will set up a separate state EV board, EV fund and EV cell to promote the use of electric vehicles in the state.

Ather is India’s first two-wheeler manufacturer making its vehicle available on lease. Under the lease scheme, instead of paying the entire amount to the scooter, you can buy it only under a monthly subscription plan of Rs 700.

Ather has launched the Ather 450X in January this year. This year, Ather is about to launch its flagship model in Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Kochi, Ahmedabad and Kolkata.
