After the governments of Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat and Telangana, the Rajasthan government is also ready to launch the much-awaited Electric Vehicle (EV) policy. Mahendra Soni, Commissioner, Transport Department, Government of Rajasthan told IANS, “The draft of the EV policy is ready and soon it will be sent to the Finance Department for approval.”
The state government recently announced some incentives, including subsidizing the upfront cost of electric vehicles for early adopters and offering them reimbursement of State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) based on the battery capacity of the vehicle sold. doing is involved. Soni said these incentives are to support the sale of electric vehicles (two-wheeler and three-wheeler) in Rajasthan and will be part of the policy.
Basically, these incentives have been announced as a part of the budget announcements made in the House during the budget session. It needs to be mentioned here that the incentives were earlier termed as EV policy announcement, however, the department clarified to IANS that the EV policy is to be announced soon.
How much subsidy will be given on vehicles
As per the order issued by the Transport Department, Government of Rajasthan, an amount of Rs 10,000 will be reimbursed on purchase of a three-wheeler with a battery capacity of 3 kWh, Rs 15,000 for a battery capacity of 4 kWh and Rs 20,000 for a battery capacity of more than 5 kW. Will go For two wheelers, the amount is Rs 10,000 for battery capacity above 5 kWh, Rs 9,000 for battery capacity up to 5 kWh, Rs 7,000 up to 4 kWh and Rs 5,000 up to 2 kWh.
