Skoda has launched its fourth-generation 2021 Skoda Fabia in Prague. The new Fabia is larger in size and has enhanced comfort features, many latest security and help systems.
The wheelbase of Skoda Fabia has increased by 94 mm to 2,564 mm which provides more space for passengers. The width of the new Fabia has also increased by 48 meters to 1,780 mm. Skoda has also used graphite gray and black colors around the door mirror cap, front grille and roof in the premium package. The 2021 Fabia has tires ranging in size from 14 inches to 18 inches, depending on the variant.
Inside, the new Fabia features a 9.2-inch infotainment display. In addition, the Fabia can optionally be equipped with a 10.25-inch virtual cockpit. The infotainment screen is equipped with features like gesture control and voice assistant. Following in the footsteps of the new Octavia, the Fabia has also got a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel. The edge of the air on the sides is now round. Skoda also offers optional features like hot air and hot steering wheel.

The 2021 Fabia also comes with a larger 380-liter boot space. However, the rear seats can be folded completely to increase boot space to 1,190 liters.
Skoda comes with two three-cylinder gasoline engines for the front-wheel drive Fabia. These 1.0 MPI engines can generate 65 and 80 hp power respectively. This is 5 hp more than the previous generation engine. Diesel units are not available in Fabia since 2018. All engines meet the Euro 6D emission standard. The top-spec variant is powered by a 1.5 TSI engine, which is meant for a 7-speed DSG transmission, capable of generating 150 hp of power.
When will the new Fabia make its debut in India
The 2021 Fabia for the global market is expected to be launched in September this year. However, it will not be launched in India. Skoda offered Fabia to the Indian market a few years ago but the carmaker is not keen on starting it again. Zack Hallis, director of Skoda Auto India, said, “There are no plans to launch the Fabia in India at the moment.”
