Mumbai: Virat Kohli feels that if Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) ever win the IPL title in the upcoming season, the first person whose name will come to his mind will be AB de Villiers for whom it will mean a lot. Will keep De Villiers, one of the legends of contemporary cricket, retired from all forms of the game in November last year.
He had spent 11 seasons with RCB since 2011. Kohli, who quit the captaincy after last season, said in ‘RCB Bold Diaries’, “One day I was thinking that if we win the title in the coming seasons, then first of all I will get very emotional thinking about him (de Villiers). ” “After working so hard for so many years, I’ll really think about him instead of myself,” he said.

Kohli said, “It will mean a lot to him even if he is sitting at home watching the match. He is a special person as he has touched everyone’s hearts and we are all witnesses to it.” Kohli revealed that he realized during the last IPL that de Villiers was about to retire.
He said, “It is very strange I mean I remember very well when he decided to retire he sent me a verbal note (Vice Note). Then we were coming back from Dubai after the World Cup.”
Kohli said, “I realized it during the last IPL. Our rooms were around. He used to see me whenever we went to our rooms. It was a strange feeling. I got emotional. His ‘Vice Note’ was very emotional.” (agency)
