Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the BJP Parliamentary Party meeting at the Ambedkar International Center in New Delhi on Tuesday. During this, the Prime Minister directed all the MPs to build ponds in their respective parliamentary constituencies. PM Modi asked all the party MPs to construct 75 ponds in their respective parliamentary constituencies regarding the Amrit Mahotsav being celebrated to commemorate 75 years of independence.
Along with this, Prime Minister Modi also gave a blueprint for the program to be run from April 6 to April 14, Ambedkar Jayanti, the foundation day of the party to all the MPs.
Referring to the extension of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana for 6 months, Modi said, the government is working for the welfare of the poor at the grassroots level and its information should reach all the people.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Parliamentary Party meeting underlined the importance of the museum of former Prime Ministers being built in Teen Murti Bhawan complex and said that all MPs must visit it.
‘We are only one, the rest belong to them…’
According to PTI, Prime Minister Modi is going to inaugurate this museum on April 14, the birth anniversary of the architect of the Constitution, Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.
According to a leader present in the meeting, the Prime Minister, while referring to the museum of former prime ministers, said that even though there is a BJP prime minister in it, the contribution of each and every prime minister of the country is important and should be respected.
The agency quoted a leader as saying that the Prime Minister said, “There is only one of us, the rest are theirs… We should respect all the Prime Ministers by rising above the partisan spirit. You all should go here.”
Emphasis on social justice week
After the meeting, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal told reporters that the MPs thanked the Prime Minister for the expansion of the food grains scheme. A decision in this regard was taken recently in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Modi.
Meghwal said that the Prime Minister’s emphasis in today’s meeting was on Social Justice Week being observed from April 6 to 14. During this, the Prime Minister asked the MPs to organize programs in their respective parliamentary constituencies.
According to sources, the Prime Minister also asked the MPs to visit pilgrimage sites associated with Babasaheb Ambedkar during this period. Several other senior leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP President JP Nadda were also present in the BJP Parliamentary Party meeting held at the Ambedkar International Centre.
