According to the said leader, the Prime Minister said, “We are only one, the rest belong to them…. We should respect all the Prime Ministers by rising above the partisan spirit. You all should go here.” In this museum, the contributions of all the former Prime Ministers were mentioned in detail and they are also displayed through various mediums. According to sources, the Prime Minister in his address referred to the extension of free food grains program- Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) for six months till September this year to provide relief to the poor and told the MPs that they should be taken care of under the scheme. After the meeting, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal told reporters that the MPs thanked the Prime Minister for the expansion of the food grains scheme. A decision in this regard was taken recently in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Modi. In March 2020, the Center launched ‘PMGKAY’ to provide free food grains to over 80 crore beneficiaries covered under the National Food Security Act as part of efforts to ease the hardships faced by people during the COVID-19 pandemic. .
Meghwal said that the Prime Minister’s emphasis in today’s meeting was on Social Justice Week being observed from April 6 to 14. During this, the Prime Minister asked the MPs to organize programs in their respective parliamentary constituencies. According to sources, the Prime Minister also asked the MPs to visit pilgrimage sites associated with Babasaheb Ambedkar during this period.
