Air India: Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran has been appointed as the chairman of Air India. Giving this information on Monday, aviation industry sources said that the airline board has appointed Chandrasekaran as the chairman of Air India. From salt to software, the Tata group won the bid to acquire debt-ridden public sector airline Air India on October 8 last year. The group has done this acquisition for Rs 18,000 crore.

Appointment approved last week

Ilkar IC turned down the offer
Tata Sons on February 14 announced the appointment of former Turkish airline chairman Ilkar Aysi as the CEO and managing director of Air India. But, on March 1, the IC turned down the offer, saying a section of the Indian media was “colouring” his appointment. Aisi was believed to be close to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The President of Turkey is counted among the ‘allies’ of Pakistan.
