new Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has informed the schools about the results of the first stage examination of class 10th. This information has been given in the order issued by the board. It is noteworthy that last year CBSE had announced that in the year 2022, the board examination will be held in two phases. In the first phase, the main subjects exam was held from November 30 to December 11 last year.
The board informed that the weightage of Phase I and Phase II examination will be decided at the time of declaration of results of Phase II examination and the final performance will be calculated accordingly. The circular issued by CBSE on March 11 said, “The Board is collectively apprising the schools about the theoretical performance of their students of class 10th. Hence, the individual performance information of the students is not available on the website.”
The board said that only ‘theory’ marks have been sent as the results of internal assessment and practical examinations are already with the schools.” The board said that since this is only the first stage examination, no mark sheet or pass certificate has been issued and they will be issued only after the second stage examination. The Board has put in place an online dispute settlement mechanism for hearing any dispute regarding the first phase of examination and it has become available immediately.

According to the circular, the online link for complaints will work till March 26, but the dispute will be resolved only after the second phase of examination. The board said that the performance of those students who have not been able to take the first stage examination due to COVID or appearing in any national or international examination or sports has not been shared. The board said that the final evaluation of such students will be based on their performance in the second stage examination.
“Necessary steps to remove the difficulty level between the two sets of question papers in the first stage examination will be taken at the time of final result preparation,” the circular said. According to the circular, the results of the students who have been placed in the repeat/compartment/passed category will be declared only after the second stage examination. The compartment examination will be conducted on the basis of the syllabus of the second stage examination.
The board has also clarified that it will not give the option of changing the examination center to the students for the second stage examination. CBSE said that since correspondence or private candidates will appear in the second stage only, their practical and theory examination marks will be given on pro-rata basis. (agency)
