IPL 2022 is going to start from 26th March. The title match of IPL 2021 will be held on May 29. In the new IPL team Gujarat Titans, England’s dashing player Jason Roy has been replaced by Afghanistan’s explosive opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Jason Roy withdrew his name from IPL 2022 for not being in the bio-bubble for a long period.
Gujarat Titans GT has replaced England stalwart Jason Roy with Rahmanullah Gurbaz for the IPL 2022. Afghanistan cricket team’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rahmanullah has played 20 T20 International matches so far in his career. He has 534 runs in his account. He has 3 half-centuries to his name in T20 International cricket. And they bat at a strike rate of around 138.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz has been roped in Gujarat Titans GT for his IPL Mega Auction-2022 base price of Rs 50 lakhs. He will be the third player from Afghanistan in the team along with Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmed. The first match of Gujarat Titans GT in IPL 2022 will be on 28 March against Lucknow Super Giants LSG.

Rahmanullah is a very useful player, playing at a strike rate of more than 150 in T20 cricket. In total 69 T20 matches played so far, 113 sixes have been hit with his bat. Gujarat Titans GT was waiting for permission from BCCI to take him in the team as an option.

Gujarat Titans GT with the arrival of Gurbaaz. Joining in has solved another problem of the team. Matthew Wade will be available only in the second week of IPL 2022. Rahmanullah played for Multan Sultans and Islamabad United in Pakistan Super League (PSL), Kandy Tuskers in Lanka Premier League (SPL) and Khulna Tigers (BPL) in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Khulna has played with the team of Tigers.
