Three Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs were suspended on Monday during the budget session in Telangana that began on Monday. The MLAs who have been suspended include T Raja Singh, M Raghunandan Rao and Etela Rajender. The proposal to suspend him was moved by the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav. After the suspension, the three MLAs have sat on a dharna outside the assembly.
Within minutes of the budget session in the Telangana Legislative Assembly, Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav moved a motion to suspend the three members till the end of the budget session. Three BJP MLAs wanted to organize a protest against the budget and the ruling TRS party, as they decided not to schedule the customary governor’s speech at the start of the budget session.
Earlier, TRS had said that there was no need for the Governor’s address as the budget session was a continuation of the previous session, which was not closed. However, in the statement of the Governor’s office, it has been said that if the session of the Legislative Assembly is held after five months, then it will be considered as a new session.

The opposition BJP and Congress in Telangana strongly condemned the decision and alleged that the TRS government was showing disrespectful attitude towards the constitutional guardian of the state. The budget session of the Telangana Legislature began on Monday without the Governor’s address.
The session is starting at a time when Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao is trying to bring various parties together against the alleged anti-people policies of the BJP. State Finance Minister T. Harish Rao will present the budget for 2022-23 today. The duration of the session will be decided in the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the House.
Before the start of the session, a controversy has erupted over the commencement of the budget session without the Governor’s address. The opposition BJP and Congress criticized the TRS government for ending the practice of the governor’s address, but the government said the arrangement could not be made as the budget session was a continuation of the previous session which had not been prorogued.
Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan on Saturday expressed disappointment over the non-scheduled address. He said in a statement that by not keeping the Governor’s address in this budget session, the members would now lose the opportunity to discuss the government’s performance over the last year.
Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday said people would not get a chance to know about the performance of the government and opposition members would not be able to debate the performance of the government due to the absence of the Governor’s address.
