Ghazipur: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav only cares about “one community and one caste”. Addressing election public meetings in Jakhania and Jangipur assembly constituencies here, Shah said elections in Uttar Pradesh are to secure the future of lakhs of people belonging to backward and Dalit communities of the state.
He claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would form the next government by winning over 300 seats in the state. Counting the achievements of the BJP government, he said that if his party comes to power again, free gas cylinders will be given on Holi and Diwali. The former BJP president said that the people rejected their negative politics by rejecting the SP, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Congress.

He said, “In the seventh phase, the people of Uttar Pradesh are going to form the BJP government once again with a historic victory, destroying the ‘Mungerilal ke Haseen Sapne’ of SP-BSP.” “The BJP has worked for the development of the poor in the country by providing them free ration, medical facilities, housing and ensuring that their homes get electricity,” Shah said. “We have sent money directly to the bank accounts of farmers and we have promised that farmers will not need to pay electricity bills for the next five years if the BJP comes to power,” he said.
Referring to Bahubali Mukhtar Ansari and Atiq Ahmed, Shah said they were sent to jail during the rule of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. “We are building houses for the poor on the land which was once occupied by the mafia during the previous governments,” he claimed. He targeted SP President Akhilesh Yadav fiercely. “Akhilesh Yadav sees with one eye only a community of which we are not a part and with the other eye sees people of only one caste,” he said. Shah claimed that the incidents of crime in the state have come down drastically under the BJP rule.
He said that the UP assembly election is an election of ‘Mafiaism vs. Vikasvad’, an election of ‘Corruption vs. Transparent Government’, an election of ‘Goondaraj vs Law Raj’ and an election of ‘Appeasement vs. Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas’. He said, “We have increased connectivity by building new highways and have worked for the development of all. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has protected the people of the country by providing free COVID-19 vaccines and has also given free ration to 15 crore people of Uttar Pradesh. In Ghazipur, polling will be held on March 7 in the last phase of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. (agency)
