The ministry is in touch with his family. According to media reports, the deceased student was a resident of Chalgeri in Karnataka.

In another tweet, Bagchi wrote that the Foreign Secretary is talking to envoys from Russia and Ukraine and reiterating India’s demand for the safe evacuation of Indian nationals who are present in Kharkiv and other areas of conflict. At the same time, Indian envoys in Ukraine and Russia are also reiterating their demand.
Airforce’s C-17 aircraft will go to evacuate Indians
The Modi government will now take the help of the Indian Air Force for the rescue of Indians trapped in Ukraine. In the wake of Russia’s aggressive military action against Ukraine, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked the Air Force to mobilize on the front to rescue Indians stranded in the Eastern European country.
Sources told PTI that the Indian Air Force may deploy several C-17 aircraft as part of this operation called Operation Ganga, being run to rescue stranded Indians in Ukraine.
The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last evening. During the meeting, PM Modi said that the government is working round the clock to ensure the safety of Indians in Ukraine. Several C-17 aircraft of the Indian Air Force can start flying under Operation Ganga today.

To expedite the evacuation operation, Prime Minister Modi has asked the Indian Air Force to be a part of the operation, sources said. Prime Minister Modi has given the responsibility of coordinating the four Union Ministers to reach the neighboring countries of Ukraine in a safe and easy way to evacuate Indians. Under this, Union Minister VK Singh will coordinate in Poland, Kiren Rijiju in Slovakia, Hardeep Puri in Hungary while Jyotiraditya Scindia will coordinate in Romania and Moldova.
Indians advised to leave Kyiv immediately
Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy in Ukraine on Tuesday suggested all Indians, including students, to leave Kyiv immediately today by train or any other means available. On Monday, the Indian embassy in Ukraine had advised students to reach the railway station in the capital Kyiv so that they could travel further to the western parts of the war-torn country. The Indian embassy in Kyiv said weekend curfew has been lifted in the Ukrainian capital and Indian students can go to the railway station to leave the city.
