But some women of the city have made waste their medium of employment. By picking up the garbage, these women have become the messengers of cleanliness. The Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi had also given a message to the countrymen in the context of cleanliness.
Gandhi had given advice to become an ambassador of cleanliness. But over time his theory remained grounded. Four years ago, Prime Minister Modi started a nationwide campaign after cleanliness. As a result, the country started moving towards cleanliness. But for the past several years, citizens along with many women are also taking the initiative of cleanliness campaign.

Women work in the city’s bus stand, railway station premises as well as the market and other premises to collect garbage. This work is also risky. While separating plastic, glass and other items from the garbage heap, it has become common for them to prick the glass, get the blade. Carrying the selected garbage on the back brings it to the scrap. This work is also risky. After working so hard, they get 50 to 300 rupees in their hands. Their health is also at risk due to waste. Dr. Priti Joshi of Stree Mukti Sangathan, who studied in the context of women picking up garbage in the city, said that a large number of women work as garbage pickers in the city. But their financial condition is very delicate.
90 to 95 percent of women are illiterate
They have their settlements in Arvi Naka, Savjinagar, Pipri Meghe, Savangi, Itwara and Borgaon Meghe complex of the city. 90-95 percent of women are illiterate. His organization is working for these women. It was revealed in the study that due to being illiterate, he has been cheated many times. Due to not having ration card, Aadhar card to other government documents, women are not able to get the benefit of the government scheme. After tireless efforts for the last four years, 142 women living in the settlement of Arvi Naka have received government documents. Savings groups have been set up for women.
Fertilizer project started in Nalwadi
There are 62 women in the five savings groups. Many schemes have been started by the organization for the upliftment of women.
