Akola. To protect children from polio, children of 0 to 5 years of commissioner class were given polio doses through 1401 stalls in the district on Sunday. For this, 283 booth supervisors and 90 mobile teams were prepared in the district. The target was to give polio doses to 1,30,108 children in the age group of 0 to 5 years at these stalls. Polio stalls were also arranged at railway stations and ST stands in the district.
Apart from this, 63 mobile teams have been arranged for nomadic tribes, brick kilns, shepherds, construction workers etc. These mobile teams will reach 28 to the beneficiaries and feed them the dose of polio. Parents in the district brought their children below the age of 5 years to the polio booth and fed them according to the rules imposed by Corona. For those children who could not come to the booth due to any reason, pulse polio campaign would be conducted for 3 days in rural areas and 5 days in urban areas.

Pulse polio campaign launched at the hands of Mayor Masane
The Pulse Polio campaign organized by the Medical Health Department of the Metropolitan Municipality was launched at the hands of Mayor Archana Masane at Kasturba Gandhi Hospital located on Dabki Road. On this occasion, Mayor Archana Masane administered polio drops to children in the age group of 0 to 5 years. Councilor Shashikant Chopra, councilor Manjusha Shelke, Ranjana Vinchankar, former councilor Jayant Masane were prominently present on this occasion.
Mayor Archana Masane called for all citizens of the city to provide polio drops to their children in the age group of 0 to 5 years and help build a strong India.
