The number of daily cases of COVID-19 is less than one lakh for the 13th consecutive day. The number of patients under treatment is 0.59 percent of the total cases of infection. The recovery rate from COVID-19 has increased to 98.21 percent. According to the ministry, a decrease of 38,353 has been recorded in the number of patients undergoing treatment for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

The daily rate of infection was 1.80 percent while the weekly infection rate was recorded at 2.50 percent. The number of people who have recovered from this disease has increased to 4,20,37,536. The mortality rate is 1.19 percent. Under the nationwide vaccination campaign, 175.03 crore doses of anti-COVID-19 vaccines have been given.
It is noteworthy that on 7 August 2020, the number of infected in the country had exceeded 20 lakh, on 23 August 2020, 30 lakh and on 5 September 2020, more than 40 lakh. The total cases of infection crossed 50 lakh on 16 September 2020, 60 lakh on 28 September 2020, 70 lakh on 11 October 2020, 80 lakh on 29 October 2020 and 90 lakh on 20 November. On 19 December 2020, these cases had crossed one crore in the country.
Last year, on May 4, the number of infected had crossed 20 million and on June 23, 2021, crossed 30 million. On January 26 this year, the cases crossed four crores.
