- CTPS area became a safe haven for wildlife
Chandrapur/Durgapur: What was being suspected amidst the panic of the tiger in the local CTPS. Such a sad incident has come to the fore. The tiger made a contract worker of CTPS his morsel. This incident happened on Wednesday night. Due to this incident, on Thursday, there has been a lot of panic among the CTPS personnel and the families of CTPS personnel living in the colony here regarding wildlife. Today no one came out of the house in the colonies. This is the third incident of tiger poaching in the district this year. In view of the panic of other wildlife including tigers in the CTPS premises, there was a demand for effective measures to be taken.
The incident is being told in such a way that Bhojraj Meshram 58, a contract worker of CTPS, had left his cycle on Wednesday night at around 10.30 pm and left for home on his cycle. The tiger suddenly attacked him and dragged him away in the bushes for a long distance. The incident caused a stir in the campus.
When Bhojraj was searched on Thursday morning, his body was found in a mutilated condition. The tiger cut Bhojraj’s neck and left it on one side while dragging the torso to the other side and leaving it. Apart from eating both the paws of the dead body, the flesh of many parts of the body was eaten. The body was found in a dire condition. Colleagues from CISF, forest department and Bhojraj Meshram helped in finding the body and taking it to the government dispensary Chandrapur for surgical examination.
It is said that Bhojraj Meshram, working in CTPS contractor Kunal Enterprises, was on duty in the shift from 3 pm to 11 pm on Wednesday. He was working in 210 Wagon Tripler of CTPS. The information about this was seen when the cycle fell down while other workers were moving through the same route. Helmets and slippers were also seen falling here and there.
