Niphad: For the past several days, the leopard that attacked the animals in Chandori of Niphad tehsil of Nashik district has finally been caught. Citizens and farmers have breathed a sigh of relief due to his capture. The leopard was roaming freely in Jagannath Sonawane’s field in Chandori. The forest department had put up a cage at this place. In this cage, the leopard who came in search of food got trapped. But there are still 2 to 3 leopards in the area, efforts are on to catch them too. Farmers and citizens including Jagannath Sonawane demanded that the area be freed from leopards.
The leopard has been caught by the forest department and brought to the nursery of Niphad. According to the forest department, the leopard’s lifespan is about 5 to 6 years. The leopard will be released back into the wild, away from the population, after being examined by veterinary officials. Last year, leopard terror was spread in the villages of Niphad, Yeola, Chandori, Belgaum Kurhe in Nashik district. He had harmed the farmers by killing many cows, buffaloes, calves, dogs and other domestic animals. Finally, after the demand of the citizens, the forest department put up a cage. After that the leopard got trapped in the net.
