Nagpur. The thieves who stole laptops and other belongings of passengers in trains have been caught by the Railway Protection Force, Nagpur. The names of the accused have been given as Javir Ahmed Bundu (40) resident of Kalampur alias Kalalpur, Uttar Pradesh and Mohammad Tayyab Mohammad Hasim (57) resident of Chaman Park, Indra Vihar, Delhi. RPF recovered goods worth Rs 1,53,408 including 2 laptops, 2 mobiles and necessary documents from them.
According to the information received, Navinya Dilip Chimurkar (27), a resident of Chandrapur, told the on-duty RPF jawan at the station that he traveled from Mumbai to Nagpur on platform 8 on seat 24 of train 22190 Duronto Express, but in the meantime, someone caught him. Stole the laptop which costs Rs 43,508. After the registration of his FIR, the RPF started investigation. Meanwhile another complaint was received through DSCR Nagpur. Prashant Anandrao Rakhunde (32) resident of Deed village, Ahmednagar district was traveling in coach S/1 of Train 12136 Nagpur-Pune Ex. During this, someone stole his bag. The theft came to light after the train crossed Ajni. The bag contained goods worth more than Rs 90,000 including laptop, cash of Rs 2,500, pen drive, essential cards and papers.
Suspect seen in CCTV
As soon as the case was registered, the RPF investigated. On closely examining the CCTV recording of the arrival time of the trains, two suspicious persons were seen. Strict surveillance was started in the station premises by sharing photos of suspects to the investigation team. During this, both the accused appeared at the reservation counter. He was taken into custody immediately. 2 laptops, 2 mobiles, data cables and other documents of RPF were found from them. On rigorous interrogation, he confessed to thefts. He told that both of them are residents of Delhi. Here in Mominpura, we are staying with a rented room in a lodge.
Both used to commit thefts by selling masks in the city and becoming passengers in the station area. Immediately all the goods were confiscated and further action was handed over to the GRP.
