Welfare: A 40-year-old woman was strangled to death at her residence near the Umbharani water tank in Titwala Police Station area on 6 February. Earlier it was called a suicide, but the medical report concluded that it was a murder, not an incident of suicide. Now the police investigation has revealed that the brother-in-law had strangled his sister-in-law to death in a land dispute. Titwala police has arrested Suresh Waghe, an accused in this case.
Mayat Dhruda Waghe, a 40-year-old woman, was found dead at her residence near a water tank in Udhani near Titwala on February 6. Accidental death was reported in this case of Post Rehna of Kalyan Tehsil, but rumors were spreading in the area that it was not a suicide but a murder. The locals demanded a thorough probe into the matter and the investigation into the death of the deceased woman Dhrupad Jayaram Waghe (40) was underway.

During the police investigation, information about the death of the deceased woman was received from her sister Asha Waghe that there was a dispute over land between Mayyat Dhruda and her brother Suresh Tryambak Waghe. Suresh Tryambak Waghe, brother-in-law of the deceased, was arrested and interrogated. He confessed that he strangled his brother’s wife Dhrupad to death over a land dispute. The Titwala Police has arrested the accused and Vijay Surve is investigating the matter under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Raju Vanjari. The accused was produced in the court and the court has sent him to police custody till 14th.
