The head coach of the England cricket team, Chris Silverwood, took the responsibility of this position for the team on 7 October 2019. And, today i.e. on 4th February 2022, he has resigned from this post. He has taken this decision after the humiliating defeat in the Ashes 2021-22 (Ashes Series AUS vs ENG 2021-2022). According to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), Chris Silverwood has taken this decision himself and expressed his desire to spend some time with his family.
If we talk about the record, then in the early days of Chris Silverwood’s coaching, England gave a very good performance. This team won bilateral series against teams like South Africa, Sri Lanka (England vs Sri Lanka), Australia (AUS vs ENG), Pakistan (PAK vs ENG) and West Indies (West Indies vs England) after the ICC T20 World Cup. . But, in the recently played last 8, in 7 series, England had to face defeat and one match was also drawn.
England’s overall record under Chris Silverwood’s coaching was excellent
Talking about the overall record, the England cricket team won the ICC T20 World Cup, 2019 ODI in the year 2019. After this, in October last year, assistant coach Chris Silverwood was made head coach in place of Trevor Bellies. Under his coaching, the England team played 29 Test matches, out of which England won 10 matches and lost 13. Talking about One Day Internationals, England won 10 matches and lost 6 matches out of total 18 matches played under the coachship of Chris Silverhood. 39 T20 Internationals were played during his tenure, out of which England won 23 T20 matches and only 14 matches were lost.

On the resignation of the head coach of the England cricket team, Chris Silverwood (Chris Silverhood Head Coach Team England), the CEO of ‘England and Wales Cricket Board’ Tom Harrison said, “Chris played his role well. And under his coaching, the team has also won foreign series in South Africa (South Africa vs England) and Sri Lanka (Sri Lanka vs England). They thank us and deserve a lot of respect. Now further Andrew Strauss will appoint a caretaker coach for the West Indies series and onwards.”
