Actually, a person from Bangalore tried to smuggle red sandalwood. The name of this person is Yasin Inayathulla. The man was smuggling red sandalwood in a truck on his way to Maharashtra from the Karnataka-Andhra border. When this man crossed the border, he fell into the hands of Maharashtra Police.
Yasin Inayatullah came up with the idea to smuggle red sandalwood after watching Pushpa film and he loaded red sandalwood worth about 2.5 crores in the cart and loaded fruits and vegetables on it.
Maharashtra Police has apprehended Yasin Inayatulla near Sangli.

Maharashtra Police caught this man at Gandhi Chowk in Meraj Nagar in Sangli district. After this, the police seized sandalwood worth Rs 2.45 crore along with a truck worth Rs 10 lakh from that person. Sangli Superintendent of Police Dixit Gedam, while giving information about this entire incident, said that ‘we had received confidential information about illegal transportation of sandalwood. Based on this tip, we started a joint operation with forest officials and raided the Zakat Naka.
He further told that, during this raid, we caught a person with his truck. We have found 1 ton red sandalwood worth Rs 2.45 crore and Rs 10 lakh in this truck. We have registered a case under sections 379, 34 of the IPC and several sections of the Forest Act and the Act has also been implemented.
