lakhandur, A man who had gone to collect firewood in the forest area was attacked and hunted by a leopard. The said incident took place on January 27 at 7 am in Dahegaon forest area of Tehsil. In this incident, action has been initiated by the local forest department to provide financial assistance from the government to the relatives of the deceased person by doing Panchnama. According to which the family members of the victim have been informed about the financial assistance of Rs 15 lakh.
This year’s first incident of human hunting
According to the information received, Pramod Chaudhary (54), a local resident of Lakhandur, along with some other people had gone to Dahegaon forest area to collect firewood during the morning on January 27. During this, the leopard attacked and hunted Chaudhary.
However, seeing the attack from the leopard, other people fled from the forest area and informed the forest department about the incident. According to which Panchnama has been done at the spot by the local forest department. However, this is the first incident of this year of human hunting with leopard. Due to which panic has spread among the citizens.
Action started for financial assistance
Financial assistance is provided by the government to the relatives of the deceased person in case of human loss due to wild animals. According to which the District Deputy Forest Conservator S.B. Under the guidance of Bhalavi, Assistant Forest Conservator R.P. Necessary action has been initiated for financial assistance by Rathod and local Lakhandur forest area officer Rupesh Gavit.
