Earlier, Elon Musk supported blockchain technology. However, now he has also made his displeasure public.
Elon Musk said in a tweet on Twitter’s NFT decision. ‘It’s annoying’. He wrote, ‘Twitter is spending engineering resources on this bs while crypto scammers are targeting spambot blocks.’
The launch of Twitter’s NFT tool comes several months later. Earlier it allowed users to send and receive bitcoins. An NFT is a unit of data stored on a digital ledger, called a blockchain. It is also a technology for cryptocurrencies. As this technology developed, NFT also came into vogue. NFTs are issued in the form of photos, videos, audio clips and other types of digital files.
Elon Musk has expressed his acceptance of this emerging industry many times on social media. In March last year, Musk announced that Tesla would accept payments in bitcoin. But the decision was put on hold in May citing environmental concerns. Earlier this month Tesla began accepting payments for certain merchandise in Dogecoin.
Elon Musk is known for his outspoken style. On the arrival of Tesla cars in India, he recently said that Tesla in India is ‘still facing many challenges with the government’. The company is lobbying the government to reduce the import tax on electric vehicles (EVs) before entering the Indian market.
