Aurangabad: Work on Kham River Rejuvenation Project is in progress. Aurangabad Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Astik Kumar Pandey, Municipal Officer and Solar Energy Expert Chetan Singh Solanki performed Shramdaan on the banks of Kham River. . Chetan Solanki appreciated the project and congratulated Administrator Astik Pandey.
While guiding the audience, the Administrator said that the Kham River Rejuvenation Project was started in January last year. The city had received heavy rains last year as well, but the depth and width of the Kham river was increased as part of the campaign, which did not affect the river as well as the overall area. Additional rainwater was carried out of the city through the Kham River.

Administrator Astik Pandey further said that every city is on the banks of the river, our city is also on the banks of Kham river. The river and its environment help the city to get clean air. To control pollution and keep the city alive, it is our duty to revive the Kham river that flows in the heart of the city. He said that if the river is kept alive, the city will survive. Speaking on non-conventional energy, Aastik Pandey said that Aurangabad Municipal Corporation has installed 60,000 LED street lights in the city and the power consumption has been reduced from 15 lakh units to 9 lakh units. Solar panels have been installed on the Phase No. 3 building of the Municipal Corporation office and the power consumption of that building has been reduced. In future, the Corporation will use electric vehicles, especially electric buses.
85 percent of conventional energy comes from electricity, oil and gas
Under Solanki’s guidance, he said that environmental change and pollution have posed a threat to human life. Now is the time to turn to solar energy. He further added that 85 percent of conventional energy comes from electricity, oil and gas. For India, 74 percent of its energy is generated from coal, which is why the environment in India and the world is changing and global warming is increasing. He said that carbon dioxide in the air has a lifespan of at least 300 years, which should be taken into account when polluting. “The only way to reduce the use of conventional energy is to keep it to a minimum,” he said. Government offices, schools, Anganwadi should be run with solar energy. He appreciated the Kham river project, solar power project and the e-vehicle project envisaged by the administrator Pandey and wished him a bright future.
